Going Kung Fu Christian! (Part 3 of 3)

Good morning everyone. This is the last part of my article. I hope you are still enjoying what’s the story. Let me finish it now ….

I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified (1 Corinthians 9:25-27).

How did he train? We’ll the basic moves that we need to practice with relentless discipline are:
Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart (Colossians 4:2).

How can a young person live a clean life? By carefully reading the map of your Word. I’m single-minded in pursuit of you; don’t let me miss the road sings you’ve posted. I’ve banked your promises in the vault of my heart so I won’t sin myself bankrupt. Be blessed, God; train me in your ways of wise living (Psalm 119:10-12).

I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ (Philemon 1:6).

Just like martial arts, these techniques are not complicated, but they required extreme discipline and constant repetition for us to excel.

Do you want to be a kung fu Christian? Then keep a constant conversation with Jesus Christ going all day, every day. pour yourself into God’s word more than Facebook, texting, movies, music, and games. Then as a result of being prayerful and knowledgeable about God’s word, stay active in haring the gospel, and the scenes from your life movie on earth will look like this in heaven:

We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. we use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:3-5).

Be the best… around!

Practicing Self-Control (2 of 2)

Self-denial is a must: Stop kidding yourself that you can develop self-control without giving up some of the things you like to do. give up the move, refuse the sweet, turn off the TV, shorten the telephone call, refrain from telling the story . . . Where will you start to say no to yourself? Don’t consider it a decision against some form of fun, but a decision for some desired goal. You might even offer the sacrifice of an innocent pleasure as a prayer for another who needs God’s help in some manner.

I’ve noticed often that the more small pleasure a person gives up to concentrate on one important task, the stronger he becomes. Jesus Christ was the greatest example of One Who depended on self-denial for strength to perform His ministry. And He put it in these words to His disciples: “If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” (Matthew 16:24)

Remember that the ultimate in self-control is not for you to become master of your fate, but to be above to serve a higher Master. -N.V.P.

To Right A Wrong

Every wrong doing is a barrier separating us from God. To move closer to Him, the barrier must be removed. Restitution (described in the dictionary as “any act of restoring . . . of giving an equivalent for loss or damage”) is one way of accomplishing this. It is not easy, but if you work at it, you’ll find the rewards are great.

First, read the story of Zacchaeus (Luke 19) and not how he decided that before he could become a follower of Jesus he had to make restitution for his past dishonesty: “And if I have taken anything from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.” Then review the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20). Make your prayer something like this: “Lord, I have done many wrong things in my life. Help me to see now which ones I can rectify. Show me how to go about this so that in a small way it will ease the hurt of mankind and glorify You.”

Second, make a list of the wrongs you want to right and submit it prayerfully to God. Remember this is a private matter between you and God. Do not let anyone else see this list. Overzealousness in confessing sins is wrong if it involves someone else and hurts is or her reputation.

Third, write down after each wrong the action you feel guided to take. A letter of apology; or, if there seems no way to pay a person back, send an equivalent sum to a church or charity. Restoring a bad relationship is thorny; one way is to seek the other person out and personally admit your mistake. Go further and accept responsibility for things that happened which you feel were not your fault. If your effort is rejected, don’t feel hurt. You tried. Te wounds may take time to heal. Try again later.

Restitution is a good way to deal wit an overgrown ego. It also strengthen one’s faith and makes it harder to beackslide. The worker who returned the equipment he had sneaked out of his company found his will to resist temptations stronger. The more so because he acknowledged his guilt to is boss and fellow workers. Restitution always const something—money, pride, position—but the alternative is worse, and inner discontent.

Righting a wrong smooths your way to God agan!

Message of Butterflies' Wings

Good morning friends. I just remember when I’m still young, I just love to see a butterfly specially when she is resting on a flower. I wonder how why she love to rest on it. I ran to the butterfly and try to catch it. The butterfly just flew away. It rested again on another flower. It is sucking the nectar of the flower. When I look at its pretty wings, it folds its wings when it rests. And it opens its wings when it flies. I asked myself why butterflies did that. There are times in our life we experience a situation even we don’t want, but in every situation God is always in our side and He will always care for us as we least expected.

At that point, I was pondering whether there was justice from heaven that allows such tragedies to happen. But, even in my desperation, I knew that i wanted to believe in God and His love. So prayer is the one that ease my feelings. I fervently prayed every day especially before I went to bed.

I asked for a sing with butterflies, although I hadn’t heard of butterflies signifying the soul or spirit. I sometimes even asked for specific colors—blue, yellow and green butterflies.

My agony of being alone without someone on my side just passed. I was very heartbroken, and remained under. I doubted now if I have really lost my faith in God had He not done so, but I am more certain at that point of His love.

I believe now that He loves me more than I do ever love myself. And I also know that He loves me for He answered my prayer in my hour of need. He ended my suffering for being heartbroken. And I’m really grateful for what He did. I praise Him so much. I love you God!

Are you Afraid?

Good evening friends. I was going to sleep, when I spot one book that was on top of the table which was place on the corner of my living room. I thought that I’d tried to look at it first before going to bed. I just opened the page of the book and this article was the first thing I saw…. In our life we sometimes scare with something we don’t know, or with something that were not happening yet. Is it that we are scared of the things which may disappoint ourselves or is it that we are losing faith with our God?...... YOU?…… Are you afraid?

If you have some fear that is interfering with your work or your sleep or making you avoid social gatherings, try confronting that fear now with these five steps.

1. Name it. Write your fear down on a piece of paper. Give specific details. A fear that may seem enormous bottled up in your mind can assume quite normal proportions when put in words before you.

2. Relax. Psychologist report that fear produces tension which can block creativity. You need a relaxed body before you can have a relaxed mind, so sit in a chair and let your body go limp. Breathe deeply, slowly. Thing of peaceful things. Continue this exercise until you’re sure the tension has drained out of you.

3. Search your Bible for passages like: “God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of course, the wonderful 23rd Psalm the Bible verses go on and on, giving free of it. He asks, yes implores, you to give Him your burden.

4. Trust Him. Believe, with all your heart, Proverbs 3:5: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart: and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Regardless of what goes wrong, you must believe that He loves you and cares what happens to you.

5. Surrender it. Take the sheet of paper with your fear written on it. Offer up a prayer like this: “Lord, I have brought this matter to Your attention. I know now that while I am unable by myself to throw off this fear. You can do it for me. I put my trust in You.” Then tear up the paper and let the piece fall into the waste basket. – N.V.P

THE Peace of Christ (2)

Formula for Peace
The world would be better off, if people tried to become better. And people would become better, if they stopped trying to be better off. For when everybody tries to become better off, nobody is better off. But when everybody tries to become better, everybody is better off. Everybody would be rich if nobody tried to become richer. And nobody would be poor, if everybody tried to be the poorest. And everybody would be what he ought to be, if everybody tried to be what he wants the other fellow to be.

Prayer of the Man of Peace

The following beautiful prayer was recorded in a collection of noble sayings compiled by Eusebius, bishop of Caesaria, about 325 A.D. Its author is unknown.
May I be no man’s enemy, and may I be the friend of that which is eternal and abides.
May I love, seek and attain only that which is good.
May I wish for all men’s happiness and envy none.
May I never rejoice in the ill fortune of one who has wronged me. When I have said or done that which is wrong, may I never wait for the rebuke of others, but always rebuke myself until I make amends.
May I win no victory that harms either me or my opponent.
May I, to the extent of my power, give all needful help to my friends and to all who are in want.
May I be able by gentle and healing words, when visiting those in grief, to soften their pain.
May I respect myself.
May I always keep tame that which rages within me.
May I accustom myself to be gentle, and never angry with people because of circumstances.
May I never discuss who is wicked and what wicked things he has done, but know good men and follow in their footsteps.
